QUARANTINE & ISOLATION GUIDELINES

As the Los Angeles County Public Health guidelines are continually updated, we will continue to update the protocols for decision making within our School. As always, the health and safety of our Scholars, Faculty, and Community are at the forefront of all we do.

A Scholar who tests positive for COVID-19, regardless of vaccination status, previous infection, or lack of symptoms, must isolate for at least 5 days. Length of isolation depends on symptoms and a negative viral test.

  • A Scholar can return to campus if a negative viral COVID-19 test is collected on day 5 or later,
it is recommended to submit a negative viral COVID-19 test collected on day 5 or later, showing improvement of symptoms and remaining fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.
  • It is recommended to upload the Scholar’s test result here. In this case, it is better to take an antigen test because NAAT/PCR tests can stay positive even after you are no longer infectious.
In addition, upon return to campus, the Scholar must wear a mask when around others for a total of 10 days from the date of the positive test result. The Scholar may stop wearing their mask sooner (between Day 6-10) if they have two sequential negative COVID-19 tests taken at least one day apart.

(To ensure consistency and in an abundance of caution, all isolation periods will be calculated from the date a Scholar tests. Please note Day 0 is the day your positive test was taken. Day 1 is the first full day after your positive test was taken.)
Distance learning accommodations will only be provided to Scholars who test positive for COVID-19.

As a reminder, if a Scholar is diagnosed with COVID-19, please notify the school immediately by emailing [email protected].

We ask that you report confirmed COVID-19 cases to the School as soon as possible so that we can take the necessary steps to protect the health and safety of those involved.
