The Pilibos High School Choir Shines
On the 125th anniversary of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation more than 3000 people gathered in the Pasadena Civic Auditorium to celebrate the resilience of the Armenian people. Proudly, the ARF continues to bring Armenians together and on January 17, the power of song through the Pilibos High School Choir strengthened and unified the Armenian Cause.
Cultural and revolutionary Armenian songs reverberated inside the auditorium. The program also included classical dance and poetry to demonstrate the richness of the Armenian culture. Alongside famous and loved Armenian performers such as Andre, Tata, and Harout Pamboukjian, the finale was the Rose and Alex Pilibos Armenian School Choir as they performed revolutionary songs. The Pilibos Choir, comprised with its high school students, were the highlight of the evening. The weeks and months they had spent preparing for the anniversary was evident in their incredibly soulful performance, which was readily felt by every person in the audience. Their voices unified through song marked the preservation and victory of the Armenian culture for future generations. Dr. Dorian, the principal of Alex Pilibos, said it best when she called Pilibos “a school of phenomenal music makers.” Onlookers looked upon the Pilibos Choir that night with much pride and joy as the students truly demonstrated their passion and commitment to their school and culture. We are very proud of our Pilibos High School Choir. Their magnificent performance was a reflection of their dedication. It was a great honor for Pilibos to be part of this celebration.
