Middle School GuidebookPilibos Middle School is a comprehensive program that extends opportunities for exploration and self-discovery. At this stage, students have mastered the skills of the primary years and are ready for greater academic challenges and more independence. Our academic program, which builds on our long tradition of academic excellence and rigor, is a blend of discipline-specific work, interdisciplinary study, experiential learning and skill building. Technology is integrated into the classes, so students connect to the global community and learn skills that enhance their educational experience.
 
Students move from semi-contained classrooms at the beginning of sixth grade to a fully-departmentalized yet integrated curriculum in eighth. Students develop critical thinking, writing and research skills along with effective time management, enabling them to comprehend and tackle increasingly difficult projects as they move through adolescence.
 
With the inclusion of the Middle School Academy class, Service Learning requirements, PSAT testing, college field trips, Naviance college and career exploration, and more, middle school scholars advance from the fundamentals of learning with ease and immerse themselves in the culture of a college preparatory environment.
