Career Day in Pilibos
		The Pilibos Counseling office in collaboration with the Alumni Association organized a career day for our 11th and 12th grade students on December 1, 2009. Sixteen professionals, most of who are graduates from Pilibos or one of our sister schools, helped by dedicating their time to come and speak to our students about various careers. We had a variety of careers represented; medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, biomedical research, engineering, architecture, music, graphic design, business/marketing, fire department and law enforcement.
		Each professional briefly spoke about their career, the education/training that was required of them, salary expectations, job outlook, as well as many other important details. Once all the presentations were done, students were given the opportunity to walk around and ask questions to the professionals, exchange contact information and receive some resourceful handouts.
		The objective of career day was twofold; to give students a chance to explore and learn about different careers directly from individuals working in those specific fields; and to encourage the students to pursue higher education/training in order to achieve their career goals.
		Overall, the experience was beneficial and informational for our students, and we look forward to organizing another career day next year.
