4th Grade Gold Rush

IMG_9645.JPGThe 4th grade students participated in an interactive Gold Rush Program presented by the Camino Real Naturalists and Historical Interpreters. As the students visited Widow Cope’s general store and gold miners camp, they engaged in activities such as storytelling, guitar playing, washing clothes, writing letters with quill pen and ink, and panning for gold!

The program gave students a look at how the journey to California was made, the hardships travelers faced along the way, and a comparison of the lives and fortunes of gold miners and merchants.
